I have been working with individuals and couples in academic, hospital and private settings since 2003. I completed my Master's and Doctorate degrees in counseling and psychotherapy from the University of Toronto. I continue to be committed to professional learning and development to ensure being a competent and inclusive therapist. I practice relational-cultural therapy focusing on how individuals relate to themselves and to others.
I help clients understand their underlying issues and how they show up in their relationships. I help clients work with those parts of themselves that are stuck in the past traumas while learning new relational and coping skills. I work with clients who need to address core issues such as grief, self-esteem, anxiety, boundaries, affairs, trauma and race.
I believe that a therapeutic relationship needs to be empathetic, collaborative, safe, non-judgmental and mutually respectful.
