Dr. Fahimeh Mianji is a registered psychologist (CPBC 2773) based in British Columbia. She earned her first doctorate in psychology and her second doctorate in social and cultural psychiatry from McGill University. She is currently a candidate in her final year at the Canadian Psychoanalytic Society. Dr. Mianji believes in an individual-centered care approach with cultural competence and gender affirmation, and she provides clinical services in both English and Persian (Farsi). She is also a consultant for the DSM-5TR Culture Advisory Group.<\/p>\n
Her areas of expertise include complex and intergenerational trauma, anxiety and mood disorders, relationship issues, personality disorders, identity disorders, adjustment issues, and attention-deficit\/hyperactivity disorder. She employs integrative methods with a special focus on systemic, cognitive, dialectical, behavioral, and psychodynamic approaches.<\/p>\n
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Mianji has conducted extensive research and advocacy in areas such as women’s mental health, medicalization, global mental health, intergenerational trauma, cultural, political, and social conflicts, as well as domestic and systemic
