Mostafa Kazemian
About Me
I am an Iranian Jungian Analyst, trained at the C.G. Jung Institute in Zurich, with a background in psychiatry and psychotherapy. After approximately seven years of clinical experience in Iran, I have lived, studied, and worked clinically in Switzerland, Austria, and Germany since 2006. During these years, I have worked with patients from various cultural and social backgrounds, addressing a wide range of psychological issues.
In addition to my psychotherapeutic work with patients experiencing various mental health disorders (such as anxiety, depression, addiction, etc.) and existential issues, one significant aspect of my clinical work has been intercultural issues in psychotherapy. Due to my Iranian background, I have also worked with Persian-speaking migrants and refugees. Since 2021, I have been providing counseling in German, English, and Persian (Dari) in my private practice and online.
Focusing on Jungian individuation, I have explored the interplay between the "individual and the collective," which was also the subject of my thesis at the C.G. Jung Institute Zurich. Since 2008, alongside my therapeutic work, I have studied interdisciplinary philosophy, religious studies, and anthropology at the universities of Salzburg, Basel, and Freiburg. In my personal life, I have a passion for cinematography, music, photography, and literature.

My Approach
For me, an ideal therapeutic relationship is built on mutual understanding, clarity, and a trusting atmosphere in the therapy room. In therapeutic dialogues, my aim is to understand individuals in their entirety—not only their specific personal traits but also their social, historical, and cultural contexts. In this regard, the individual’s relationships with others, the surrounding world, and nature are significant issues.
The goal of analytical therapy is to reconnect with the inner world, rediscover deep-seated, forgotten desires, and live a life true to oneself. Jungian analysis aims to help individuals gain a deeper understanding and acceptance of themselves and to find a renewed sense of their personal path in life. Beyond cognitive processes, other psychological functions such as emotions, intuition, sensory perception, and imagination (dreams, fantasies, and creativity) can be focused on in therapy to enable positive changes and progress, especially during times of crisis.
